Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache!
I made this cake for my father in law's birthday last week. He is a chocolate lover so I went all chocolate for this one. Dark Chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting and chocolate ganache made with godiva dark and milk chocolate. I'm not a chocolate lover like he is and I loved it! Here is the Picture...and of course the recipe for the ganache, it's easy and oh sooo good! Enjoy it!
3 16oz chocolate bars of your choice, the better the chocolate the better the ganache you'll get at the end
1c heavy cream
1tbs rum (optional)
Cut the chocolate bars in small pieces and put them in a bowl and set aside, make sure the bowl is big enough to mix with the cream
Bring the heavy cream to a boil, make sure you keep an eye on it, it boils pretty fast, once it boils pour it over the chocolate and mix until you have a liquid than add the rum if you want. Let it cool before you pour it over the cake.
When you pour it make sure you pour starting in the middle of the cake and out covering the sides as well. Let it cool before serving. Love it!
