4th of July cupcakes

I made these red velvet cupcakes filled with fresh strawberry buttercream and decorated them simply with white buttercream frosting and a blue star made of fondant to celebrate the 4th of July this year.

Beach theme graduation cake made to order

This cake was for a graduation BBQ party, the graduate loves the beach and wanted to have a beach theme cake with a graduation cap on top. She actually drew the cake she wanted and I just made it that way. I had a lot of fun making this one too. The cake was for about 60-70 guests. I made all the decorations by hand without any cookie cutters or anything. I guess my drawing skills finally paid off hehe :)

Baptism Cake for 40-50 servings

This is a vanilla cake, with fresh strawberries and whip cream filling. The icing was swiss meringue buttercream, decorated with baby blue sugar flowers made of gumpaste. The virgin mary with baby was one of the favors the parents were giving to the guests and wanted to put that on top of the cake. I think it made it look so much nicer.

Graduation Cake for 150 people May 10

This was a request from a nice aut throwing a huge party for her niece who graduated with honors from a high school in West Virginia. She told me she liked music so I decorated a tier with music notes made with homemade marshmallow fondant, she wanted the school colors, wich were columbia blue, navy blue and white. I added a white house press pass next to the cap because she is going to journalism school. The paws at the bottom tier were made of chocolate candy melts with the school colors to represent the school mascot. This was my first big big cake. It was not an easy task, but I did it thanks to the help of my husband and mom who watched the kids for me while I worked, and a friend of mine who also came to the rescue and helped me so much since I had two big orders for that same weekend. It was all work that week, but well worth it. The flavors were vanilla cake with buttercream filling.

I'm back with more...Superhero Sugar cookies with Royal Icing

I have not been in to blog lately, Kind'a busy baking :) So it's time to catch up! Here are some sugar cookies I made for my daughter's 5th Birthday back in June for her to give to her friends at the end of the party as a treat, besides the goodie bags that had a superhero cuffs, mask and cape. Each cookie was about 5" in width and about 3" long, so pretty big. Sugar cookies with royal icing, they were super!!

Rainbow Unicorn Cake

This is a rainbow unicorn cake. The inside of the cake is actually the best part of this cake as it's all different colors of the rainbow, I wish I could show it. The outside covered with white marshmallow fondant, decorated with a handmade unicorn, lolipops, candy and of course a rainbow. I had a lot of fun making all the decorations. My daughter has already requested a cake just like it for her 6th birthday next year! LOL. By the way, this client was referred to me by a friend who has a party planning business, she is great! Here's her website link in case you need her services http://lepetitparties.blogspot.com/

Sleeping Baby cupcakes

These were vanilla cupcakes with creamcheese buttercream made for a baby shower. Very cute and delicious, sure to be the focus point of the party after the mommy to be, that is ;)

Daniella's 5th Birthday Cake- Dark chocolate and vanilla cakes, with real strawberry buttercream filling and homemade marshmallow fondant.

This cake was designed by both Daniella and I about a month or two before her birthday. She wanted a red cake, with strawberry filling. She wanted a superhero flying on top of it, which gave me a challenge for sure, but it came out pretty good if you ask me. She loved it! I made the top tier a dark chocolate cake with real strawberry buttercream filling, and the bottom a vanilla cake with the same strawberry buttercream filling and covered with buttercream and than with homemade marshmallow fondant in red and pink, like Daniella wanted.  Her eyes lit up when she came down in the morning of her party and saw the finished cake :) That was worth my backache, and sleepless nights. Oh! and almost everyone, except the ones on diets, went for seconds :)
